Those Whom Jesus Wants
(Mk3:13-15)
God is the Head of authorities (Rm13:1).
Authorities comes from Him, and
He gives authority to those whom He wants.
Faith is acknowledging this and longing for Him, and
The life of this faith is putting effort to become those whom He wants.
When employers search for employees, singles spouses, and citizens their president,
They look for those whom they want since they must share their destiny.
Then, how much more important would it be for the king of kings
When He looks for those who will be seated with Him on the thrones in heaven?
Since the ancestor of mankind, Adam, listen to the serpent and sinned,
He disappointed God and was thus banished from the Garden (Ge3:4-6, 24).
Nevertheless, the Bible illustrates those who, while still flawed, pleased God and were used for Him.
God was not ashamed to be called the God of Abraham, the father of faith (He11:6), for
He was simple-minded and believed the word of God and obeyed Him (Ge12:1-5, 15:5-6, 22:12).
Since Moses was faithful as a servant of all God's house (He3:5) and
A very humble man, he became a mediator between God and the people (Nu12:3; 14:11-19).
David became the first king of the kingdom of Israel since
At a young age he risked his life and killed the enemy (1Sa17:34-36),
While being faithful to the end without revenging the king whom God anointed (1Sa24:8-12).
God instructed the Israelites to place
Aaron's staff before the Testimony inside the Most Holy Place (Nu17:8-10) for
God established the law that authority comes unilaterally from God.
Jesus said, "Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days (Jn2:19), because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body,
He would reveal that He is the Head of all authority for
He is the Son of God who came according to the prophecy (Jer3:15),
With whom the Father is well pleased (Mt3:17).
As such He spoke and worked, including His death,
All according to the Father's will (Jn6:39, 10:17-18, 12:49).
He began His public life by calling on those whom He wanted, His disciples.
They were those who would be with Him
But also one who would betray Him ” all to fulfill the prophecy (Zec13:7; Jn13:26; Ac1:16).
As He died, Jesus said, "It is finished (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Returned His life to the Father, the Head of all authority, and gave Him glory (Jn10:17-18);
2) Condemned the devil who became the ruler of death by deceit (Ge2:17, 3:4; He2:14);
3) Bundled men in His blood so that they would become those whom the Father wants (1Pe1:18-19; 1Sa25:29).
After He was raised,
He sat at the right hand of God (Mk16:19; He8:1, 12:2), as the Head of all authorities.
The Holy Spirit came in the name Yeshua and
To this day seeks those whom He wants (Ac2:39).
The Christian knows that he has been called to
Take up his cross and follow Christ to be seated on the throne in heaven with Him (Mk19:28).
He is simple-minded (Mt4:18-22), active (Mt14:27-31; Lk9:52-56),
Focused (Mt5:1-2), honest (Jn1:47), and gentle .
He is able to confess his mistakes and shed tears for them (Mt26:75).
Therefore, the Lord holds on to him through trials until the end (Lk22:28-32).
O Lord,
Do you want me?
Since You have held on to me until now
Please keep holding on to me until the end and
Let me live with You forever! Amen.
