My Soul and the Name of Yeshua
(Jn1:12; He1:4-5)
God has a holy name.
He reveals the holiness of His great name (Eze36:23) and
Leads those who hallow His name in the paths of righteousness (Ps23:3).
Faith is knowing the name of God and receiving it into my soul (Jn1:12).
The life of this faith is putting effort for His name to be hallowed (Mt6:9).
Everything has a name, and even the names of gods were bestowed by human beings.
Although name is not the entity itself, it carries the same honor and rights as that entity or person.
Thus all promises and relationships are made and carried out by the name.
Despite the fact that God made man a living being (Ge2:7)
For His eternal name to be in him (Ex3:14; 2Ch6:5),
Because deceived by the devil, Adam sinned and his spirit became unclean by sin,
The holy name of God could not be in him and
All mankind became destined to follow the devil to hellfire, the spiritual incinerator (Mt5:22, 25:41).
The name of God revealed to Moses was Jehovah, the Self-Existent (Ex3:14-15), and
God sent him to Egypt to let Israel, Abraham’s descendants, go to the land of Canaan
For they received the promise of the inheritance of land (Ge17:8).
The pharaoh mocked, “Who is Jehovah that I should obey him and let Israel go?” (Ex5:1-2), and
Consequently had to pay a price — the total collapse of Egypt.
The commandment Israel received warned that anyone taking the name of Jehovah in vain (Ex20:7),
Anyone profaning or not revering His name would be cursed (Lev18:21; Dt28:58-60).
David struck down with one shot Goliath who defiled the name of the LORD (1Sa17:45, 49).
Since Solomon built the house where the name of the LORD (2Sa7:13),
In spite of his sin of defiling the Temple, he escaped curse during his lifetime.
Nevertheless, because of the rebellion of Israel, the temple was destroyed (Neh1:8; La2:8) and
Wherever they went among the nations they profaned His holy name (Eze36:20).
Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” for
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21):
Israel were called the people of Jehovah—the promised inheritance of land (Ge17:5; Dt28:10);
Souls bearing the name of Yeshua—the promised inheritance of the name of God (Jn1:12; He1:4).
His public life was to reveal the Father’s name (Jn17:6), and
Be one with those who believe His name (Jn17:11).
To the disciples who rejoiced after driving out demons in the name of Yeshua,
He said, “Rejoice that your names are written in heaven" (Lk10:17-20).
As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1) Died according to the Father’s command, and while men defiled the name of God, the Son hallowed and showed the holiness of His great name (Eze36:23; Php2:6-11);
2) Condemned the unclean devil, the origin of sin (Ge3:4-6; 1Jn3:8); and
3) His death—redeemed—set all men free,
His blood—inside souls—a new name, Yeshua, the name of God—never to be defiled (Is62:2).
He resurrected and ascended to the heavenly throne, eternally giving glory to the Father.
The Holy Spirit lets believers know:
The name of the Father=the name of the Son=the name of the Holy Spirit=Yeshua (Mt28:19; Ac19:6);
The name of my soul=Yeshua (Jn1:12; Ac3:6);
To hallow the name of Yeshua=the purpose of the spiritual life and prayer (Mt6:9).
He who was baptized in the name of Yeshua and became a Christian
In the past lived for the name of his flesh
But now lives for the name of his soul, Yeshua; therefore he:
1) Praises flowing from not the soul but the spirit;
2) Prays to reveal the glory of His name (Jn14:13-14);
3) Displays the signs in His name (Mk16:17-18; Jas5:16);
4) Serves knowing all the ministry of the Spirit as glorious (2Co3:8);
5) Whether in word or deed does all in His name (Col3:17); and
6) Preaches the gospel to souls and teaches them to bow their knees before the name of Yeshua (Php2:10-11).
O Lord,
Yeshua! The inheritance of my soul! The surname of my soul!
Every moment I breathe, let me give glory to the name of Yeshua and
Even in my last breath, may I bring glory to the name of Yeshua. Amen.
