My Soul and the Evil One
(Ps145:20; Mt6:13)

For God is righteous,
He does no evil and rather destroys evil (Job34:12), and
For God is good,
He delivers all who love Him from the hands of the evil one and protects them (Ps145:20).

Faith is believing God and believing that my soul has been justified (Rm5:1), and
The life of this faith is, to be ready to appear before the judgment seat of Christ (2Co5:10),
Cutting free from the cords of the wicked and not giving into the wicked (Ps129:4; Pr1:10).

While people lament that the world is becoming more and more evil,
Theology debates whether humans are naturally good or inherently evil.

The Bible records that God made all things as good (Ge1),
But then where did evil come from?
It states that as God made all for Himself, even the wicked for the day of disaster (Pr16:4),
The origin of sin, the devil who attempted to ascend the throne in heaven (Is14:12-15)
Disguised himself as a serpent in the Garden of Eden and deceived Adam.
So he took the forbidden fruit (Ge2:17 3:4-6) and
All mankind became under the control of the evil one (1Jn5;19).
Nevertheless, this was according to the plan of the One who made them so (Job9:24).

The Bible illustrates that:
•    The evil one = Satan, the devil, evil spirits, demons, deceiving spirits, wicked people;
•    The wicked = deny the existence of and the judgement of God (Ps14:1);
•    Wickedness = foolishness = madness (Ecc7:25).
As such, for Cain belonged to the evil one, he murdered his brother (1Jn3:12);
For every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart in Noah’s time was only evil all the time,
All men were destroyed by the deluge (Ge6:5);
The destruction of Sodom was a showcase of the distinction
Between the righteous and the wicked (Ge18:25-33, 19:13-25), and
Lot, who was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw, and his family were
Saved (2Pe2:8);
The Law acquitted the innocent and condemned the guilty (Dt25:1); and
All the but two of the Israelites who left Egypt died in the wilderness (Nu14:27, 35) for
With wicked words they complained and disobeyed the LORD (Nu11:1).

The prophet cried out that, if they cleansed their hearts of evil and turn from evil deeds,
They would be saved (Jer4:14, 25:5).
They were to not envy the wicked for the prosperity of the wicked (Job21:13) is
Placing them on slippery ground to be cast down to Hades to destruction (Ps73:2-18).

Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21):
Jehovah—the Law—judge the righteous—>Canaan/ longevity—end the first covenant;
Yeshua—the Truth—judge righteous souls—>the Father’s house/ eternal life—begin a new covenant.

As He died, He said, “It is finished” (Jn19:30), declaring that He:
1)    Died according to the Father’s command and was judged righteous (Jn10:18; Rm5:18);
2)    Judged the evil one, the devil (Ge3:15; Ps34:21; Jer30:23; 1Jn3:12); and
3)    His death—redeemed—delivered all mankind
      His blood—for souls who believe—to triumph the evil one—be saved (1Jn5:18).

He resurrected and ascended to heaven and sat on the throne, the throne of judgment (Ps122:5).
The Holy Spirit helps believers so they are delivered from the hands of the evil one and
Lets them discern what is good and evil, who is the righteous and the wicked,
For there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked (Ac24:15).

The Christian is he who knows that his soul that has been justified
By the blood of Yeshua, the spirit of adoption, the blood of the covenant (Rm5:9, 8:15; Mt26:28),
Will be judged according to the things done while in the body, whether good or bad (2Co5:10), thus:
1)    Distances from the wicked—that is, unbelieving family, worldly friends, those with a sinful and unbelieving heart (He3:12-19), who have no hope in resurrection (1Co15:32-33), and church members who have abandoned their good conscience (Ps53:1; Eph2:12; 1Ti1:19-20);
2)    Does not walk in step with the wicked, does not keep company with or associate with the wicked (Job34:8; Ps1:1; Pr1:10);
3)    Immediately shakes off evil thoughts—so they do not become deceiving spirits (1Ti4:1-2);
      Cuts off wicked habits and deeds—because the result for the wicked is hell (Col3:5)
4)    Guides the wicked to turn from their wickedness—and preserves his soul (Eze3:19-21); and
5)    Prays to be delivered from evil (Mt6:14; Jn17:15).

O Lord,
Let me know that he who deceives me with worldly words is the wicked!
Let me stay far from the wicked and only be in the company of the righteous.
Let us all escape from this den of evil!  Let us all escape from this burning universe!  Amen.
