My Soul and My Trust
(Ps52:7-9; 2Ti1:12-13)
God is the eternal rock (Dt32:4).
He is perfect in His works, faithfulness, justice, uprightness, and
He knows those who trust in Him (Na1:7), and
He puts trust in those who trust Him and have become pillars (He2:11-13).
Faith is trusting God, His word, and His name (Ps9:10, 20:7, 143:8) and
Faith life is trusting Him without being moved even in the midst of troubled times (2Ti1:11-12).
A rock is solid and worthy of trust and reliance.
While many financial institutions frequently use the word, “trust,”
At times they can fail those who have trusted and invested in them.
This is also for those who suffer a medical accident while seeking treatment with confidence, or
Those who die in an airplane crash while traveling with confidence.
Uncertainty is on the rise globally as life expectancy increases and the population ages since
The number of those expected to support them is decreasing due to low birth rates.
The Bible says that God is the Rock to believe and trust in:
• The basis of faith—the Bible—God’s prophecies and covenants—all fulfilled;
• The foundation of faith—creationism—by the Word—from nothing came all—the creation of man without spirit/ Nephilim (Ge1:27, 6:1-4)—much earlier than Adam/ 6,000 years ago (Ge2:7, ch.5);
• The deluge in Noah’s time—wiped away all men without spirit—only Noah’s descendants, living beings, remain (Ge6:5-8);
• Abraham—believed in God’s covenant—received a son at 100—the covenant faith (Ge18:10)—believing that God can raise even the dead, sacrificed his only son (Rm4:18-21; He11:17-19);
• The exodus of Israel/ 10 plagues—walked through the sea on dry ground—the wilderness for 40 years—ate manna;
• The sanctuary—the ark of the covenant—the vase of manna—reminded the past things;
• David—put trust in God rather than the sword or the bow—ran to the enemy, scaled the wall (2Sa22:30-31; Ps44:6);
• Prophet Elijah—prayed—from heaven brought down the fire and the rain after a drought for 3 years and 6 months (1Ki18:37-38, 44-45);
prophet Elisha—raised the dead—the dead body that touched his body came to life (2Ki13:21).
For those who believe in all these things, the One whom they can truly believe and trust had come:
A son born of a virgin, as prophesied, whose name is Immanuel (Is7:14; Mt1:21-23), and
Yeshua said, “Destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days,” because
Through the death and the resurrection of the temple of His body (Jn2:19-21), He would reveal that,
The Word who was with God in the beginning (Jn1:1-2)
Became flesh and dwelled with men (“God with us”) (Mt1:23; Jn1:14).
The signs and wonders following Him during His public life led men to believe Him and trust Him:
With two fish and five loaves of bread He fed tens of thousands (Mt14:17-20), and
Filled up the boat of Peter who trusted His word and let down his net and
Caught so many fish that the net began to break (Lk5:4-9).
But because He rejected the pleas of those who wanted to make him king of the world (Jn6:15),
He was handed over to be killed.
As He died, He said, “It is finished,” for He fulfilled all prophecies and covenants (Jn19:28-30):
1) He absolutely trusted the Father and laid down His life to receive it back (Is12:2; Jn10:18);
2) He condemned the devil the liar (Ge3:4-6; Jn8:44); and
3) His death—redeemed—set men free
His blood—sprinkled on souls—so they trust faith (Rm9:32).
His resurrection testified that the word of Yeshua Christ is the truth, the assurance for faith.
The Holy Spirit testifies the resurrection of Yeshua Christ and that He lives.
The Christian is he who sows (deposits) in order for
His soul to resurrect to a glorious spiritual body (1Co15:42-44):
1) Laying down his knowledge and experience, he trusts the word and obeys (Lk5:5; 2Co10:5);
2) Always trusting the blood of Yeshua, he has the confidence to entrust his soul in the Father’s hand (He10:19);
3) By knowing the One whom he trusts, he believes that He will guard the things he has been entrusted with (his soul, spirit, body, family, possessions); and
4) Prayer is the best means to trust—for the Lord puts His trust in those who entrusted all things to Him, and lets them become pillars in the temple of the New Jerusalem (He2:11-13; Rev3:12).
O Lord,
Whom can I trust until the end of this life?
My God, our Father, Yeshua! You alone are my trust, my eternal Rock!
Let me become a pillar of the temple, a pillar of prayer like Anna,
In whom You put Your trust
So I may see Your face at Your second coming! Amen.
