The 2026 Korean Ministry Annual Summer Retreat was held in Canadensis, Pennsylvania, from July 26–28, 2026. Centered on the theme, “A Secure Faith and Secure Salvation in the Last Days,” the retreat brought together members of the Korean Ministry for a time of spiritual renewal, worship, and fellowship. Throughout the retreat, Pastor Bong-Il Lee of Daejeon Vision Church in South Korea shared messages centered on the importance of guarding one’s faith and diligently preparing for the return of our Lord Yeshua.
The evening of Day 2 was further blessed by the unexpected opportunity to welcome youth from Woodside Church and other churches. Before the praise session, Pastor Kang shared a brief but powerful message specially prepared for the visiting youth, reminding them that our true self is the soul, declaring, “I am a soul, and this is my flesh.” She emphasized that Yeshua accomplished the work of redemption once and for all for all mankind. With His work complete, believers are called to work out their salvation with fear and trembling so that they may escape this universe, which will one day become hell.
Following the message, the youths joined the congregation in a heartfelt time of praise. This was a blessed opportunity for the Korean Ministry to be all the more recharged and strengthened. Hallelujah!
The 2026 Annual Summer Retreat was held in Canadensis, PA from July 12-14th. The theme was “Everlasting Relationship: Part 2,” following Part 1 from last year. In just this short time, through five sessions preached by Pastor Jo, the members in attendance (204 in total) were revived in their will to live – not for our home on earth that is passing away, but for everlasting life in heaven!
Summer retreat, beginning with Lord’s Day worship, is a time set apart to praise the Name of Yeshua, hear the word, and cry out in prayer. As Pastor Jo preached the word of God to us souls – created to have a relationship with the Creator through this word, we were cut to the heart, remembering our need to return to the Father once and for all, as did the prodigal son. 17 new souls made such a commitment, being baptized in the Name of Yeshua, hallelujah! As many shared in their testimonies of breakthrough, healing, and restored faith – the Holy Spirit surely was working, and there was not a soul untouched by the grace of Yeshua Christ! Returning home, we expect tests to come, but through this time of spiritual training we are determined to live by the truth and have victory.
The Logos USA 15 and Logos 39 commencement was held on March 15, 2026. A total of 49 and 14 students, respectively, completed the year‑long Bible institute at the Church of Jesus.
Over the course of the year, the students were guided through a structured and deeply immersive study of the Bible, using a God‑centered (rather than human‑centered) framework. Many shared how the teaching they received reshaped every aspect of their faith life: from knowing themselves as a living being, to their identity as a member of the body of Christ, and prioritizing each day’s time and commitments accordingly. In her message to the congregation, Pastor Jo shared how the Logos certificate cannot be added to a resume or used for recognition. In the Word (ho logos) is life (John1:4) – that which has nothing to do with the world that will perish, but the life of God which is eternal. To inherit this eternal life – the single desire of the soul – is the reason past and present graduates alike treasure and give thanks for the tools they received to possess the truth in Logos. The students presented small gifts to our two pastors in appreciation for their instruction, and many members gathered to celebrate the graduates.
Logos USA 16 and Logos 40 has since begun, and we pray for the new class’ successful pursuit to know the only true God, by learning and submitting to the precious words of Yeshua.
The 40th Anniversary Service was held on June 15, 2025, marking 40 years since our beloved Church of Jesus was founded. Pastor Sung Kee Kang presided over both the English and Korean ministries and in her sermon, “The Son of Man and the Truth,” reflected on her own experience hearing the word of truth and being set free from many years of illness. Fast forward to today, where souls of all nations redeemed by the blood of Yeshua are united under one roof by the Name of Yeshua. And we are so grateful to be called as members of His church, the pillar and foundation of truth. To commemorate the occasion, the choir sang a number of special pieces, and Pastor Bong Il Lee, a dear friend of our church, shared a personal message following a recent test of his own. For the church to keep, defend, and teach the truth, the pastor must have clear and unwavering uprightness before the word, specifically Christ’s command of baptism by immersion. As expressed by Pastor Kang in a past sermon, this means separating from anything and anyone not in accordance with the truth, at any risk, and at any cost (2 Corinthians 6:17). For Pastor Lee, this meant making the difficult decision to leave his denomination, and our church was moved by his testimony of God’s faithfulness to provide for those who lay themselves down for the sake of Yeshua and His gospel (Mark 8:35). The service concluded with our church documentary and a presentation by members, which accompanied “Behold the Lamb,” and “O, the Glory.” We pray the final result was a brief glimpse into the majesty of the return of Yeshua, and the glory of living in His presence eternally. Whether long or short time ago, having been taught the same word of truth under Pastor Jo Kim and Pastor Kang’s direction – our hope is for Church of Jesus to be the home of our souls until we see the Lord face to face.
